5 min read

Experience and enjoy the internet like never before with India's First Homegrown Browser 'Veera'. Faster, Smarter and Safe Browsing.
The Beta version has launched and this review is after testing the mobile only 'Veera Browser'. We see a lot of useful features and the top most being your safety.

Installation & Features
You can install the Veera Browser on your mobile from the Google play store.
Open the Google Play Store
Search for "Veera Browser" in the search bar.
Click on the "Install" button.
Link for the Play Store is here

In the play store click on the install button and a file size of less than 100 mb is downloaded and installed on your mobile. It requires a Mobile OS of Android 7 and above.

You can now click on open and use the browser.

You can see it says Beta Early Access. This means that you are trying the app before most people use it. Google automatically collects the data on how you use the app and shares it to the developer alone for improvement.
You too can give feedback directly to the developer.
Early Access - Beta Version

Once you open you are at this screen that lets you select the default language for the browser. Currently there are 2 options - English and Hindi. You can select your preferred language and click continue.

First Look
A clean, clutter free look. It has a tab for gaming. And as you scroll you can see the top news from the top media channels.

After browsing 3-4 pages on different tabs we can see it shows number of ads that were blocked and the data saved.

I could see multiple places while browsing that shows an empty space where ads were to be. This gives a safety assurance of your own personal browsing data in safe hands.
Clicking on the Ads Blocked tab takes you to the Veera Browser's Kavach screen.

What is Kavach ?
Kavach on Veera browser safeguards your privacy while you browse. It not only protects your privacy it also speeds up your browsing through the browser.

Kavach by default protects you from 3rd party ads on websites you surf. You will still be seeing Veera promotional ads which can be turned off in your profile, as shown in the image.

Data Security

By blocking 3rd party ads and an option to block promotional ads by Veera as well, the data collection and data security stands up against other browsers.

Data collection
You can use the browser without the need to enter your personal detail, like name, age, mobile no etc. While entering the games section you have to enter your mobile number with OTP verification, DOB etc. I checked the data collection info and they have mentioned the same.
This is probably to authenticate the age for appropriate games.

Veera Games

As mentioned earlier once you enter games you have to enter your mobile number and authenticate with an OTP.

Inside you can see a lot of interesting section of games, ranging from Action, Strategy, Sports, Arcade, Adventure, Puzzle, Racing, Cards and more.

Played a few games and they were pretty interesting. Ads do appear in games.

Other features
Apart from the faster ad free browsing experience, you also have a complete private mode, (Incognito) where your history doesn't get saved.

To access and use the private tab, click on the menu on the bottom right corner.

Under the menu, once you enter settings you have options to change your search engine, to enable-disable password manager, notifications etc.

We felt the Indian based Veera browser truly standing up to its features, in terms of speed, ad free browsing & security. It is a superior alternative available to chrome.

So, how is veera different from other browsers ?
Blocks all 3rd party ads and makes browsing faster.
Blocking trackers on websites gives you a safer experience on the internet
Localized language and content for India
Brings the best features of desktop browsing to the mobile
Ensures user’s data security
More features coming soon
As mentioned on their site https://www.veera.com/#Features we can accept more features to be added in their coming updates. In the initial loading when you open the app we can also see a mention of rewards, eager to see how this works.
